Maren Morris Wrote “Wild Robot” Songs for Her 4-Year-Old Son: He's Watched the Trailer 'Probably 80 Times' (Exclusive)
The musician is a mom to son Hayes Andrew, 4, whom she shares with ex-husband Ryan Hurd
Maren Morris had her son in mind when writing music for The Wild Robot.
While chatting with PEOPLE at the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of her new animated movie The Wild Robot, the musician, 34, revealed that her son Hayes Andrew, 4, already can't get enough of the film.
"I think my son's watched the trailer on my phone probably 80 times," the mom of one told PEOPLE on Sunday, Sept. 8. "He thinks it's the movie."

"The Middle" singer continued to share the analogy she used to explain what a movie trailer is to her little one. "I'm like, 'No, this is like the appetizer to the movie,' like trying to describe it to a 4-year-old."
"But no, he's so proud because he's putting connections together that like I'm singing in it," she shared, adding, "I definitely wrote these two songs for the soundtrack, like with him in mind as his mother."
The Wild Robot is an "epic adventure" directed by Chris Sanders that "follows the journey of a robot — ROZZUM unit 7134, 'Roz' for short — that is shipwrecked on an uninhabited island and must learn to adapt to the harsh surroundings, gradually building relationships with the animals on the island and becoming the adoptive parent of an orphaned gosling."
Morris shares Hayes with her ex-husband Ryan Hurd. The former couple finalized their divorce in January, just five months before the singer came out as bisexual in June.

With so many recent changes in Morris's life, the proud mom told PEOPLE in August that Hayes has "definitely brought me through a lot of this year."
"Whether he knows it or not," she continued, "I doubt he does, but I just want to be a good mom to him."
Being on the road for her RSVP Redux tour only made their mother-son bond stronger, Morris explained.
"He loves being on the road, which has been so much fun this summer, having Hayes out. I don't know, we feel like partners in crime a little bit, and we're going to be on this bus journey for forever," she shared with PEOPLE. "It just makes me so happy when he's out and the fact that he loves it out here so much."
Morris also opened up about her recent divorce and how it's affected Hayes, saying, "I feel like there's so many emotions when you have a child with somebody and the relationship doesn't pan out and you just have to put on a brave face and a consistent face for your baby."
"I think he's gone through a lot and there's. I'm sure, a lot of confusion because he's so little," she said, "But also, I feel like Ryan and I have done a really great job at just being great parents for him.
