Margo Martindale cooks up a maple syrup heist in ‘The Sticky’ trailer
Margo Martindale is in a very sticky situation.
Amazon released the first trailer on Monday for the three-time Emmy winner’s new Prime Video dark comedy series “The Sticky” about a multimillion dollar heist on Quebec’s maple syrup surplus. Created by Ed Herro and Brian Donovan, the six-episode series stars Martindale as Ruth Landry, a tough syrup farmer who resorts to crime when authorities threaten to “take away everything she loves,” reads the logline. Ruth teams up with a “hot-tempered Bostonian mobster (Chris Diamantopoulos) and a mild-mannered French-Canadian security guard (Guillaume Cyr)” to carry out the maple syrup heist.

The trailer shows the trio plotting and scheming, including a suggestion to “Nancy Kerrigan the guy.” In the final moments, they cross paths with Jamie Lee Curtis, who guest-stars and is an executive producer.
“The Sticky” is inspired by the true maple syrup heist in 2012 that saw 2012 more than $18 million worth of maple syrup stolen from Quebec’s national reserves.
All six episodes of “The Sticky” will drop on Friday, Dec. 6 on Prime Video.
