Margot Robbie unveils Harley Quinn's new look in fantabulous 'Birds of Prey' teaser
Harley Quinn sips cocktails and dances to EDM in the first teaser for Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), while introducing a cast of characters that DC Comics fans are hungry to see. Star and producer Margot Robbie dropped the video on a secret YouTube account this morning, while debuting Harley’s over-the-top new look (kind of Gwen Stefani-gets-stuck-in-a-wind-tunnel-outside-Party-City) on Instagram. Watch the Birds of Prey teaser above, and read on for fan reactions to the new character reveals.

The imaginatively named Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is a cinematic riff on the all-female super-team that originally consisted of Batgirl, Black Canary and Huntress. The movie adds Robbie’s Suicide Squad breakout character (the best part of that troubled film, along with the underused Viola Davis). Free from that creep the Joker, Harley finds new allies in Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). Together they must rescue teen superhero-to-be Cassandra Cain from villains Black Mask (Ewan McGregor) and Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina, who debuted his shocking blond hair at the Golden Globes). Rosie Perez will play Gotham police Det. Renee Montoya, who may have her own superhero potential. The character shots fly by in the teaser. Fortunately, social media is already full of screencaps — and excitement about Birds of Prey‘s bold departure from the superhero-movie norm.
