Marie Osmond weighs in on Utah woman charged for being topless in own home, likening her behavior to 'pornography'
After a Utah woman made headlines for being charged with three counts of lewdness for being topless in front of her stepchildren in her own home, co-host of “The Talk,” Marie Osmond, weighed in, likening the woman’s behavior to “pornography.”
The Utah woman, Tilli Buchanan, and her husband said they were doing construction in their garage when fibers and dust made them itchy, and the two removed their shirts.
Buchanan’s three stepchildren recounted the story to their mother, who alerted authorities. Buchanan’s husband was not charged.
If convicted, Buchanan may face jail time, fines, and could be required to register as sex offender for 10 years.
“If my children walked in to see their stepmother and their father putting up drywall naked, to me that would be a sense of pornography,” said Osmond. “I don’t want my child seeing their stepmother naked. My children don’t need that image,” she added.
Viewers on Twitter weighed in, with some saying Osmond’s comments were out of line:
He disrobed as well to get rid of the insulation in his shirt just as she did. People are ridiculous to think this was sexual. It’s like they don’t even read the article.

Well that was stupid of her but I don't think it was a crime if that is all she did

But others agreed with Osmond and said Buchanan was in the wrong:
Um is something wrong with her? My children are that age and I don’t care what anyone says, it’s inappropriate to be naked around young children! Then they’ll think it’s normal to do it too!!!

That’s sick. The kids are probably embarrassed as well.
