Mariska Hargitay Is an ‘Icon to End All Icons’ in ‘Stunning’ Throwback Photo

Mariska Hargitay provided evidence on social media that fans say proves she has been “stunning in every single decade.”

The Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star marked Friday, Aug. 30, with a special throwback photo that she posted on Instagram. In the snapshot, the actress lounged on red cushions in a black top that left most of her back and shoulder exposed. She flashed a red-lipped smile as she focused her gaze on the camera, her upper body leaning on her arms as one of her hands gripped her hair near her scalp and the other rested against her neck.

Hargitay, 60, simply captioned the photo “FBF” as she tapped into the flashback Friday social media trend.

In the first 24 hours after Hargitay shared the photo, her post’s comment section was flooded with fans gushing over the actress’ beauty.

“Beautiful both then and now ??,” one person declared as another said Hargitay has been “Beautiful since always??.”

Some adoringly called the version of Hargitay “Baby Mariska,” while others said she would be “forever young ????.”

“A force of nature from the start! Stunning then, now and always! ????????,” one fan exclaimed.

“Icon to end all icons,” another fan commented.

Some SVU fans referred to Hargitay by her character’s rank on the police procedural as they complimented her looks.

“She is my beautiful CAPTAIN??????,” one viewer wrote as another agreed, writing, “always stunning, captain ???.”

Hargitay has starred as Olivia Benson on the popular NBC show since it launched in the fall of 1999. Earlier this year, she and her fellow cast members celebrated as the show premiered its historic 25th season, making it the longest-running live-action show on primetime in American TV history.

The show is scheduled to return on Oct. 3 for its 26th season.
