Mark Wahlberg Shows off Jaw-Dropping Bald Transformation for New Movie

Mark Wahlberg showed off his jaw-dropping transformation into a bald man for his new action film Flight Risk, directed by Mel Gibson.

"No bald cap for me????,” Wahlberg captioned the wild photo showing himself next to a crew member. “We go all in @flightriskmovie October 18th ??????.”

In Flight Risk, Wahlberg plays an Air Marshal accompanying an informant on a flight across the Alaskan wilderness in a small Cessna. He stars in the film alongside Downton Abbey’s Michelle Dockery and Topher Grace. Wahlberg opted to shave his head for the film rather than wear a bald cap so that he could realistically inhabit his character.

"There was no bald cap. I shaved the middle and left the horseshoe around the sides," Wahlberg told People of the experimental style. "We just shaved it. They would shave the top as close to the scalp as possible every day, obviously, because we didn't have any stubble or anything. So I just hid it with a hat," he added of his time away from the set.

Wahlberg explained that he can’t stand the tedious, daily application process that wearing a bald cap would’ve entailed "For me, yeah, it's not fun," he said of prosthetics. "You know, hopefully I can just kind of become the character. Wearing a fake—either a wig or mustache, I always feel like it feels ridiculous."

Wahlberg and Gibson previously shared the screen together in Daddy’s Home 2 and Father Stu, but Flight Risk marks the first time Gibson is directing the Boogie Nights star.

Audiences can expect lots of twists and turns when the movie hits cinemas on October 18. You can check out the trailer below.
