Mark Wahlberg Spotted With Brother Donnie in Rare Joint Public Sighting
Brothers Donnie and Mark Wahlberg were spotted in a rare joint public sighting on Thursday evening in their hometown of Boston. They were cheering on the city’s basketball team, the Celtics, as they took on the Dallas Mavericks at TD Garden in the first game of the 2024 NBA Finals.
Mark, who celebrated his 53rd birthday earlier this week with the announcement of a new Municipal golf shoe, unsurprisingly wore one of the brand’s signature hoodies and matching caps for the event. Blue Bloods star Donnie, 54, flanked his brother in a complimentary black hoodie. Mark wore all-white Municipal sneakers while Donnie rocked black-and-white tennis shoes.
Mark and Donnie sat courtside for the nail-biting game. Though Game 1’s top scorer was the Mavs’ Luka Doncic, who notched an impressive 30 points, it was the Wahlberg brothers’ hometown team who prevailed. The Celtics came out on top with 107 points to the Mavericks 89.
Both Donnie and Mark have led successful careers in music and film, though they’ve rarely worked together. Mark was very briefly a member of Donnie’s signature act, New Kids on the Block, but he didn’t stay in the group for long. The two have never appeared together in a movie or on television; but along with their brother, chef Paul Wahlberg, the siblings own the venerable Wahlburgers franchise of restaurants, founded in 2011 in their native Massachusetts.
Mark, Donnie, and Paul share another six siblings as well as three half-siblings from their father’s subsequent marriage. Though it’s fairly rare for Mark and Donnie to appear in public together, the younger brother recently posted a promo which shows them serving Wahlburgers customers together at one of their locations.
