Set to hit theaters July 25, 2025, Matt Shakman (WandaVision) is directing the latest take on the classic Marvel team that originated in the comics in 1961. The movie stars Pedro Pascal (Mr. Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Human Torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Thing).
The team became available to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Disney’s acquisition of Fox.

Pascal shared the first cast photo of the new Fantastic Four film’s stars earlier this week with the caption, “Our first mission.”
John Malkovich and Paul Walter Hauser are also set to appear. Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer are credited for writing the script, while WandaVision’s Peter Cameron has also worked on the screenplay.
Following an unreleased Roger Corman-produced feature in the 1990s, the Fantastic Four hit the big screen with director Tim Story’s 2005 movie that starred Chris Evans, Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd and Michael Chiklis as the titular group. Although the film’s box office success led to a 2007 sequel, the movie did not impress critics and has a 28 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
The team was later rebooted for Josh Trank’s 2015 feature starring Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell. This one was less successful than the 2005 film, as it underperformed at the box office and holds just a 9 percent Rotten Tomatoes critical score.
