Comic-Con 2018: Marvel Reveals When ‘Iron Fist’ Season 2 Will Punch Back Onto Netflix (Video)
Thanks to the “Iron Fist” panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2018 on Thursday, we now know when we’ll see the Immortal Iron Fist’s glowing magic punches returning to Netflix: Sept. 7
In addition to the return date for Marvel’s fourth Netflix show (and the final member of its four-character team from its show “The Defenders”), fans also received a few hints at what the next season has in store for Danny Rand (Finn Jones), a.k.a. Iron Fist, as well as Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) and Misty Knight (Simone Missick).
“Iron Fist” Season 2 is picking up the story from last year’s season, but Danny has gone through a lot since that story. He most recently popped up in the second season of “Luke Cage,” where he helped Luke (Mike Colter) with his battles in Harlem, and hinted at the two teaming up to create Heroes for Hire, the name of their duo in the Marvel Comics. Before that, he joined Luke Cage, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Daredevil (Charlie Cox) on “The Defenders,” where the four teamed up to take on Iron Fist’s mortal enemies, the ninja clan known as The Hand.

Danny’s appearance in “Luke Cage” showed that his character has developed pretty far from the end of “Iron Fist” Season 1 — we saw a Danny who was much more chilled out and centered than he was when he first arrived on Marvel’s Netflix scene. That could change in Season 2, though, given the hints the panel gave about what Danny will be facing.
Marvel Television boss Jeph Loeb announced what Alice Eve’s role in “Iron Fist” Season 2 will be: She’s playing Typhoid Mary, a villain who, in the comics, has telekinetic powers.
Social media updates and a clip played during the panel also hint at another villain. Earlier this week on Twitter, the “Iron Fist” account shared a picture of Danny’s superhero logo in neon, which then flickered to reveal a red serpent in the center.
That’s the logo of one of Iron Fist’s big villains, Steel Serpent — a character who was set up in the first season of “Iron Fist,” and who looks to be Danny’s new big enemy. That’ll likely throw Danny for a loop, because Steel Serpent is Danny’s best friend, Davos (Sacha Dhawan).
With two potential villains, Danny will need all the help he can get. Luckily, the panel also hinted at a superhero team-up fans have been waiting for between Colleen and Misty, who in the comics are known as the Daughters of the Dragon.
