Matlock Faces ‘Human Lie Detector’ Yael Grobglas in Episode 3 Sneak Peek
You can hide, but you can’t run, Matty discovers in a sneak peak from the third episode of CBS’ freshman hit, Matlock.
In the episode “A Guy Named Greg,” airing this Thursday at 9/8c on CBS, Olympia (Skye P. Marshall) takes on a wrongful termination case filed by a woman who claims she had been sexually harassed by her boss.

When a “boss/employee” role-playing sex tape made by the defendant embarrassingly comes to light in court, Olympia begrudgingly summons “The Meerkat” aka Shae, an expert jury consultant played by Jane the Virgin alum Yael Grobglas.
Hearing that a “human lie detector” is on the premises, Matty (Kathy Bates) does her best to avoid contact, though as seen in the sneak peek above, even this “invisible old lady” cannot go unnoticed. Press play above to see what happens when human lie detector meets skilled liar.
As Matlock showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman, who previously worked with Grobglas as Jane the Virgin‘s boss, told TVLine, “Shae is good at reading body chemistry, telling if people are lying…. So, putting that person in front of Matty is going to pressure her.”
