Matt Berry (‘What We Do in the Shadows’): 2024 Emmys episode submission revealed
Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Matt Berry is entering the “What We Do in the Shadows” episode titled “Pride Parade” as his 2024 Emmy Award submission for Best Comedy Actor. “Pride Parade” aired on July 20, 2023 and is the third episode of the FX show’s fifth season.
In this installment, Berry’s character Leslie “Laszlo” Cravensworth agrees to help Sean (Anthony Atamanuik) in his comptroller election by planning a pride parade to boost his LGBT+ demo. Later on, Laszlo and Nandor (Kayvan Novak) give Guillermo (Harvey Guillén) several tests to see how much of a vampire he’s truly become.

This year marks the first career Emmy nomination for Berry after earning a pair of Critics Choice Awards bids in 2021 and ’23. For this 2024 Emmys contest, he is competing against Larry David (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”), Steve Martin (“Only Murders in the Building”), Martin Short (“Only Murders in the Building”), Jeremy Allen White (“The Bear”) and D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (“Reservation Dogs”).
“What We Do in the Shadows” received eight total 2024 Emmy Award nominations, including Best Comedy Series.
