Anything you can give us on Superman & Lois Season 4? –Brendan
At San Diego Comic-Con, TVLine’s Keisha Hatchett asked for any details on the mystery role that Flash vet Tom Cavanagh is playing in the last remaining Arrowverse series’ series finale. “We can’t say who he’s going to play,” EP Brent Fletcher teased, “but it is a character from the comics, and we feel that it is the most Tom Cavanagh character of all-time… It’s going to be one of the fans’ favorite moments from the season.” (Watch the full video above.)

In the two trailers for The Umbrella Academy Season 4, we saw new colors for Five and Viktor’s powers. Will there be an explanation about it, or is that more the show got a new budget so now they can showcase those powers in a way they never could before? –Ivan
Keeping in mind that last we saw the Hargreeves siblings, they didn’t have their powers at all, I can confirm that those differences will indeed be explained in the Netflix drama’s final season (dropping Thursday, Aug. 8).
Any scoop on Netflix’s final season of The Umbrella Academy? –Kristen
You’ll want to stick around until the verrrry end of the series finale’s closing credits.
Any official word on the status of Shakespeare & Hathaway? It’s been in limbo for some time now. –LoveRiot
I worked the proverbial phones hard on this one, and… there’s still no official word yet on a possible Season 5 for the British mystery-comedy (which last time came Stateside via BritBox and PBS). On the bright side, though we are coming up on two years since Season 4 debuted, I’m hearing S&H is not necessarily dunzo.
What can you tell us about Mariel Molino’s character on NCIS: Origins (premiering Monday, Oct. 14)? Is she the only woman in the team full of men? –Jessica
Far from it. Working alongside 1991 “probie” Leroy Jethro Gibbs (played by Austin Stowell) and Special Agents Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid) and “Randy” Randolf (Caleb Martin Foote) are Special Agents Lala Dominguez (Molino) and Vera Strickland (Diany Rodriguez), as well as Field Operation Support Officer Mary Jo Hayes (Tyla Abercrumbie). Lala, though, is the second-most senior team member, behind only Franks. “She is kind of Franks’ righthand agent when we meet Gibbs at this time in his life,” Molino, seen above with the NIS bullpen’s lone computer, told me. Lala also wields a “dry” and “dark” sense of humor. “When we meet her, there’s a very macabre scene around her, and she says to Gibbs, ‘Reminds me of when I was little,’” her portrayer previewed.
I’m dying to know what we can expect from the new season of Chicago Med! I’m deeply invested in the potential Hannah/Archer ‘ship, but I’ll take any scoop I can get. –Kat
“I got to have a phone call [with new showrunner Allen MacDonald], and I got to go into the writers’ room,” cast member Jessy Schram very recently shared with TVLine, “and while we’re, obviously, sad to be losing our crew from the past, it’s really great energy that Allen is bringing into the room. We have some new writers, as well, and the storylines that I’ve heard that are coming up — at least for Hannah — I’m really excited to dig in and challenge myself and bring something really exciting to the show.”
I loved the first season of TWD: Daryl Dixon and I’m even more excited now that Carol is back full time for Season 2! Any scoop you can give us on The Book of Carol? –Nikki
While very much moving the story forward, Season 2 (which premieres on AMC Sunday, Sept. 29) also pays its respects to the past. In fact, issues that we may have thought had been dealt with years ago turn out to be as fresh as an open wound.
Is the Anthony Anderson show We Are Family coming back for Season 2? I do not see it on Fox’s fall or midseason schedule. –Mike
No decision has been made yet on the quiz show’s fate.
Can we expect another gay character on Industry now that Gus is not in the new season, and will we know what happened to him? –Josefa
The first half of Season 3 doesn’t give us any details as to Gus’ whereabouts. As for other LGBTQIA+ representation, no new characters or reveals come to light in the early episodes, but given the show’s proclivity for sexuality, anything is possible as the season cruises toward another surely dramatic finish.
In the latest Snowpiercer, what was the mysterious vapor we leak out of the Peacekeeping Forces’ snowsuits when attacked? –Dave
I, too, spotted that (see screenshot above), and asked Season 4 showrunner Paul Zbyszewski what to make of — as I described it — that inky, wispy something. “The short version is, yes, there will be answers as to what that inky, wispy ‘something’ is,” he said. “The slightly longer, hopefully more intriguing, answer is that it plays an important part of the larger mystery of what Admiral Milius and his people are up to.”
Can we expect Heartland Season 17 on Up TV (regular TV) in August, as it was in 2023? –Rhonda
“In August”? As in, imminently? No. Season 17 won’t air on Up TV that soon — nor do we have a linear premiere date just yet. But FWIW, it will stream elsewhere in “early 2025.”
Why hasn’t BET aired Season 2 of Sacrifice? It’s been almost two years since it was filmed. –Adrián
Good question — but as of when this column went to press, there was still no confirmed premiere date. TVLine will keep you posted, though!
Are there going to be any lighthearted moments/BAU family moments in the Criminal Minds: Evolution finale? Or will it just be really intensely packed? –Kaye
“Yes,” showrunner Erica Messer affirms. “By the end of a harrowing season, we will be thrilled to see the team in a setting like they were in at the beginning of the season.”
Based on the promotional photos for the Criminal Minds: Evolution season finale, we see Penelope in the field with JJ. What can we expect for this? –Kate
I covered a bit of this last week. But I handed your Q to show boss Erica Messer anyway, and she said to watch for “Garcia taking her MVP status on the road.”
