Mattel Adventure Park to open later this year in Arizona. Here's what it looks like so far

Mattel Adventure Park — the first of its kind — is slated to open soon in the Phoenix area.

The theme park, located at VAI Resort in Glendale, will bring Mattel favorites to life across 9 acres. This includes Barbie, Thomas & Friends, Hot Wheels and Masters of the Universe.

The indoor and outdoor design will offer air-conditioned fun to appeal to all ages. If you get hungry while visiting, there will also be food and beverage options.

The Arizona Republic was able to capture some of the progress being made.

What rides will be at the Mattel theme park?

Mattel Adventure Park will have two Hot Wheels-themed roller coasters ― Hot Wheels Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride and Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer, according to a news release.

The Hot Wheels Bone Shaker will incorporate the hot rod’s skull design and climb 84 feet in the air.

The Hot Wheels Twin Mill Racer is a 65-second thrill ride with an over 2,503-foot track. The ride goes from zero to 50 mph in under 3 seconds. The roller coaster features two vertical loops — one that's over 116 feet — and a series of corkscrews and hairpin turns.
