Matthew Modine, Claire Forlani Join ‘Three Lucias’

HONG KONG – Matthew Modine (“The Dark Knight Rises”) and Claire Forlani (“Meet Joe Black”) are to star in a Malta-set, Australian mystery drama “The Three Lucias.”

Modine (pictured) plays a man who spends an awkward Easter weekend with three women, including a daughter he did not know he had, a social recluse and a movie star.

Other cast includes Marama Corlett, Ann Cusack, Tina Rizza and Greta Holland.

The film is to be directed by Sandrine Scribberas (“Max’s Dreaming”) and produced by David redman (“Till Human Voices Wake US”) through his Melbourne-based Redman Entertainments.

The film has finance from the Malta Film Commission, Australian regional film financing agency Film Victoria and by Australian-born, Berlin-based financier Felix Snow.

Production starts in November with the entire shoot in Malta.

Redman told Variety that local distributor and international sales agent have yet to be attached.
