Maurice Benard And Bryan Craig Recount Their Recent General Hospital Scenes
During this year’s General Hospital Fan Club Weekend, GH star Maurice Benard held a live recording of his mental health podcast State of Mind, and he had a very special guest.
Crushing It
Bryan Craig, who recently reprised the role of Morgan for a single episode, joined Benard for a jaw-dropping podcast episode in front of a live audience and recounted their recent scenes together. “That was your first day back,” Craig remembered after Benard explained how his recent mental health battle forced him to take a two-week hiatus.
“I wasn’t all there in the beginning, especially with Bryan,” Benard admitted before asking what his co-star witnessed that day. “I had seen you similarly like that before, so I kind of felt like I knew how to be with you,” Craig revealed. “Even when you’ve been in those states and we’ve been at work, you still crush it,” he continued, garnering a supportive round of applause from the live audience.
“My first day back, he was a sweetheart,” Benard said of his on-screen son, while Craig referred to the scenes as “beautiful.”
Remember The Time
The two later took a trip down memory lane and delved into Craig’s time as Morgan, which ran from 2013-2016. “When they gave us the bipolar storyline, for me, it was the first in my acting career, the first big responsibility that I had,” Craig admitted before going on to credit Benard for guiding him through the storyline.
Benard got emotional when he thought back on past scenes with Craig. “A lot of people just didn’t quite believe in Bryan’s talent like I thought they should,” he revealed.”He was like a young Brad Pitt… that kind of actor.”
Aside from GH, the actors delved into mental health, Craig’s experience dating a narcissist, and took questions from their audience of GH fans.
