‘Mayfair Witches’ unveils Season 2 trailer just in time for Halloween [WATCH]
Just in time for Halloween, AMC Networks has unveiled the Season 2 trailer for Anne Rice‘s “Mayfair Witches.” Watch the video above, if you dare! The spooky series stars Alexandra Daddario, Jack Huston, Harry Hamlin, Tongayi Chirisa, and Alyssa Jirrels, and is created by Michelle Ashford and Esta Spalding, based on Rice’s novels “Lives of the Mayfair Witches.” The new episodes will debut on Sunday, January 5, 2025 on AMC+ and AMC.
The second season of the dark saga continues the story of Rowan Mayfair (Daddario), who has just given birth to the shape-shifting demon named Lasher (Huston). She seeks answers regarding whether he’s a human or a monster, all while trying to fulfill her destiny as a healer. However, after a tragedy hits close to home, Rowan must fight to protect her loved ones like never before.

“There’s a black cloud that hangs over our family,” Rowan narrates in the video trailer. Now that Lasher has been born, “He grows in these wild spurts … something is very wrong,” declares his frightened mother.

Some of the cast and crew are former Emmy nominees, including Daddario for acting in Season 1 of “The White Lotus” (2022), Hamlin and Ben Feldman for their guest stints on “Mad Men” (2013 and 2012, respectively), Thora Birch for her lead role in “Homeless to Harvard: The Liz Murray Story” (2003), and Ashford for writing “The Pacific” (2010).
Last year, Season 1 of “Mayfair Witches” divided critics, receiving a 44 at Rotten Tomatoes and a 47 at Metacritic. Lacy Baugher (Paste Magazine) was a fan, writing, “While the first season of Anne Rice’s ‘Mayfair Witches’ is ultimately a very different beast than the books upon which the show is based, it’s also in many ways, a better, more coherent experience.” And Daniel D’Addario (Variety) noted, “Through it all, Daddario proves herself an able performer once again.”
The series is executive produced by Mark Johnson, Spalding, Tom Williams, Ashford, Christopher Rice, and the late Rice, who died in 2021. Spalding serves as the showrunner.
