Mayim Bialik reminisces on 'The Big Bang Theory,' shares which cast members she still talks to
More than a year after the finale of the long-running sitcom "The Big Bang Theory," Mayim Bialik is still working with a few of her co-stars.
In an interview with Fox News published Thursday, the actress looked back fondly on the show as a place that "fostered a really nice sense of just really enjoying my job in a way that a lot of us don't get that opportunity," acknowledging it was rare to have "job security like that for long, especially in my industry." Bialik joined "Big Bang Theory" in Season 3 and stayed for the remaining nine seasons.
"Being part of 'The Big Bang Theory' for gosh, almost a decade of my life, was a thrill," she said. "It was a real thrill as an actor to be employed for that long and to be employed at something that I enjoyed so much with people that I enjoyed working with so much. As a neuroscientist in real life, I really enjoyed going to a job where our intellect is appreciated and our characters’ intellects were appreciated."
Though the show wrapped in May of last year, she hasn't said goodbye to all her co-stars. Bialik acknowledged the dynamic had changed now that they didn't see each other every day on set, but that she's still in touch with Melissa Rauch (Bernadette Rostenkowski) and cast mate Simon Helberg (Howard Wolowitz) in a film she wrote. She's also producing a new TV series, titled "Call Me Kat," with Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper, her former on-screen husband).
"It’s obviously different to have a relationship with people when the thing that brought you together doesn't exist," Bialik said. "We don't have a place to go to work together to hang out. We've had some group communication for sure … We all have different kinds of relationships, but it’s very hard. We miss being together that way because you can't recreate that."

Fans of Bialik's earlier work have wondered if "Blossom," the family dramedy she starred in as a teen, would get the reboot treatment. The actress explained it could be difficult given that her loyalties currently lie with a different network.
"I’m currently working on a series with Warner Bros., which is my home network. So there are some legalities … we were a Disney show," she explained. "It’s not something that I have explored and there's been some really interesting industry complexity to it. I'll leave it at that, but I’m really excited to see other shows being rebooted. I feel like I would love to find a world where that would be possible for us."
