Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin split after nine years of marriage: 'Forever connected'
Meagan Good and DeVon Franklin are filing for divorce after nearly a decade of marriage.
Good, 40, and Franklin, 43, said in a joint statement to USA TODAY that despite the end of their marriage, their love for one another remains "eternal."
"After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected," the couple said. "There’s no one at fault; we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love. We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife."
The "Harlem" star met Franklin, a studio exec and bestselling author, on the set of the 2011 dramedy "Jumping the Broom," according to People. The two wed in June of the following year.
This past June, Good and Franklin took to Instagram to mark their ninth year of marriage.

"You are the best decision I've ever made (besides loving Jesus LOL)," Good wrote alongside a video slideshow of the couple over the years. "I love you with everything inside me …in this life and in the next."
"To the love of my life, my husband/purpose partner, happy aninversary!!" she wrote.
At the time, Franklin shared a photo of himself and Good, writing: "I love you my life. Happy Anniversary #9."
Earlier this month, Franklin congratulated his soon-to-be ex-spouse on the rollout of her latest project, the Amazon Prime sitcom "Harlem."
"I’m so proud of my love @Meagangood!" Franklin wrote in an Instagram post. "She’s one of the most talented actors on the planet AND she’s funnier than you may know but I’m so glad you finally get a chance to see her do it all as Camille Parks in the new Amazon show #Harlem."
Outside of their romantic bond, Good and Franklin share a deeply spiritual bond.
In 2016, the couple co-authored "The Wait: A Powerful Practice for Finding the Love of Your Life and the Life You Love," which detailed the abstinence-based approach of their early relationship.
"We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other," the couple concluded their statement Tuesday.
