Meagan Good slams viral clip of Michael Ealy seemingly ignoring her boyfriend Jonathan Majors

“Super unfortunate how people don’t have anything better to do than project on others.”

Meagan Good wants to make one thing clear: people still like Jonathan Majors, apparently.

The D.E.B.S. star called out a viral clip of her Think Like a Man costar Michael Ealy seemingly ignoring her boyfriend, Jonathan Majors, on Instagram Thursday. In a clip originally posted by the Instagram account NitecastMedia, Ealy gives Good a huge hug, lifting her off the ground in the process, and then greets rapper D Smoke and his wife, seemingly giving Majors the cold shoulder as he stands unacknowledged at the PowerPlayers Mix & Mingle event in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Instagram account The Shade Room shared the footage, garnering over 250,000 likes, and the video garnered over 15 million additional views on X. As the clip went viral, users speculated that Ealy’s apparent snubbing of Majors was an intentional rebuke of the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania actor, who was convicted of assault and harassment in December after a highly publicized domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend.

However, in a lengthy comment on The Shade Room’s post, Good insisted that Majors and Ealy greeted each other immediately before the viral footage began. “So we’re just gonna edit out the first part of the video where Jonathan and Micheal exchange a big hug first and then speak life over each other — “before” he gives me a big brother hug?” she wrote. “Lol smh super unfortunate how people don’t have anything better to do than project on others and intentionally perpetuate negative misguided commentary on life snippets they have no real context to. It’s sad. Sigh. But still, God bless yall.”

Some users also noted that at the very beginning of the clip, Ealy does appear to be exiting an embrace with Majors, though it happens so subtly and quickly that it’s not entirely clear.

Reps for Ealy and Majors did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment.

In the wake of his legal troubles, Majors’ manager and publicist both dropped him as a client, while Disney released him from his Marvel Studios contract and took his prestige drama Magazine Dreams off of its release schedule. The actor was also removed from the upcoming Dennis Rodman biopic 48 Hours in Vegas, and he lost brand endorsement deals with the U.S. Army and the Texas Rangers.

In an interview with PEOPLE, Good said that she began her relationship with Majors at the peak of his controversy. "Someone saw us somewhere going to a movie and then kind of reported it, and it was like, 'Should we shut it down or not?' And I was like, 'No, because people have a perception of you that's not true. A perception of who you date that's not true,'" she said. "So if this is what it is then at some point they're going to find out."

“He actually tried to encourage me not to be with him,” Good continued. “He wanted to protect me. I was like, ‘My love, first of all, you’re dealing with a Black Leo.' And also, I grew up in this industry. The things that I’ve been through gave me the bandwidth to love other people, regardless. So when we got together it was like, this is going to be a lot, but you got the right one.”
