“Mean Girls”' Lacey Chabert Reminds Fans She Also Voiced Famous Nickelodeon Character: 'Part of Your Average Family'

The 'Party of Five' alumna lent her voice to a favorite Nickelodeon series at the same time as starring in the Fox series

Did you know Lacey Chabert voiced one beloved Nickelodeon character?

The Mean Girls actress reminded fans in a recent TikTok that she voiced Eliza Thornberry, the main character in Nickelodeon's The Wild Thornberrys. 

In the Friday, Sept. 6 TikTok, she tells viewers: “Okay, so this is a character I voiced that you may not have realized.” The actress, 41, then proceeds to channel the young cartoon character and recite the series’ theme song:

“Hi, I’m Eliza Thornberry. I’m part of your average family. I’ve got a mom, a dad and a sister. There’s Donnie, we found him! And Darwin, he found us!”

Several fans and followers were shocked by Chabert’s revelation. “I didn’t know this…that is so fetch! ??,” a user wrote, in reference to Chabert’s popular Mean Girls character Gretchen Wieners’ famous line, “That’s so fetch.”

“Hold up! Gretchen Wieners was Eliza Thornberry?! ????. So awesome! ??,” wrote another fan.

“It’s the fact that people don’t know this! ????,” added another user.

The beloved children’s show followed Chabert’s character, Eliza, as she and her family navigated the wild from their RV while her parents hosted a famous nature show, and Eliza used her magic ability to speak to animals. Alongside Chabert, Tim Curry, Jodi Carlisle, Danielle Harris, Tom Kane and Flea lent their voices as Nigel, Marianne, Debbie, Darwin and Donnie, respectively.

The Wild Thornberrys aired on the children’s channel from September 1998 through June 2004, with a total of 91 episodes and five seasons.

Additionally, in 2002, Nickelodeon released a feature film, The Wild Thornberrys Movie, that followed Eliza as she worked to save a cheetah cub from poachers.

At the same time as working on The Wild Thornberrys, Chabert also appeared onscreen in Party of Five, playing Claudia Salinger for six seasons from 1994 until 2000. Before her on-screen debut and Nickelodeon role, she also voiced the 8-year-old Anastasia in Anastasia in 1997.
