One Chicago is returning to NBC soon, and the new trailer for the three One Chicago shows sees very different vibes for each. Over on Chicago Fire, it seems the new Boden replacement isn’t really getting along with Severide, while on Chicago Med, one of the new doctors is already clashing with Dr. Archer. Meanwhile, on Chicago P.D., it’s more of the same for Hank Voight, who seems determined to carry on as if he didn’t almost just die in the Season 11 finale. So, what exactly will the new season bring for each of these shows?

Chicago Fire Season 13 Trailer

It’s quite an auspicious start for the new Chief in the Chicago Fire Season 13 trailer. Our first look at Dom Pascal as Chief Boden’s replacement has him proclaiming that “There’s going to be changes around the firehouse.” And, as expected, Lt. Kelly Severide isn’t all that thrilled about that. The expectation was that the new Chief would clash with Herrmann, who Boden had pretty much handpicked to be his successor, but it seems he will clash with Severide first, as the trailer also sees Severide tell his wife Stella Kidd that “There’s something about the new chief that’s a little off.”

Now, showrunner Andrea Newman confirmed Severide doesn’t want to be Chief. He’s all in on OFI. And Herrmann might still want that position in the future. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t tension ahead. Or that Severide won’t fight for the people at Firehouse 51. And that makes for an entertaining Season 13. Especially considering we still have to contend with Severide and Stella possibly looking to expand their family – and the whole matter of Damon being Severide’s half-brother.

Chicago P.D. Season 12 Trailer

Hank Voight - Chicago PD
Hank Voight - Chicago PD

On the Chicago P.D. front, we see Sargeant Hank Voight try to bury himself in work following his close brush with death in the Season 11 finale. And though he has effectively lost the people in the unit who would call him out on his behavior in the past two seasons – first Jay Halstead and later Hayley Upton, the trailer does see ASA Nina Chapman attempt to hold him accountable. “I’m police, I’m doing my job,” is Voight’s response.

“You almost died in that basement,” a voice reminds Voight. “But I didn’t die. I’m still here,” he responds, almost a dare. He is Hank Voight, and he means to change nothing. And he has seemingly learned no lessons from what happened last season.

Chicago Med Season 10 Trailer

Ripley & Asher in Chicago Med
Ripley & Asher in Chicago Med

On Chicago Med, we get our first glimpse at Dr. Caitlin Lenox (Sarah Ramos), right after a voiceover from Goodwin tells us that the hospital needs to rethink how the ED operates, not worrisome at all. It does serve as the perfect background for a clash between Dr. Lenox and Dr. Archer, as Archer takes issue with Lenox and asks her “How old are you?”

She, however, has the perfect response, quickly firing back “How old are you?” We can’t wait to see what Archer has to say to that. One thing seems clear, things are finally going to change in the ED, and honestly, it’s about time. The trailer, however, doesn’t hint at the resolution of some of the bigger storylines from last season, like what happened to Dr. Ripley. But we cannot have everything in the first trailer.
