Meet the Bold & Beautiful Leading Lady Who Stole Tanner Novlan’s Heart
The Bold and the Beautiful’s Tanner Novlan is not only married to an actress, she happens to be one that had a role on the CBS soap way before Finn landed in Los Angeles. Longtime fans will remember Kayla Ewell for spending a year playing Caitlin Ramírez, who was involved with both Rick and Thomas Forrester in the early 2000s. However, five years later, the actress met the love of her life…
Where It All Began
If they haven’t already, the couple sure does have a fun story to tell their kids — and future grandkids — about how they met. And if you don’t know, we have a story for you… Novlan and Ewell landed roles in the 2010 music video for the Sick Puppies hit single “Maybe,” where he appeared as a mechanic and she a waitress. Both characters were clearly fed up with their lives and as the song stated, “maybe it’s time to change and leave it all behind,” left their jobs and took off on the road. When both separately reached Venice Beach, their lives changed for the better… and new beginnings were made when they came face to face… Much like that of the actors…

Real-Life Romance
Five years later, Novlan asked Ewell to marry him and she said yes! “I got lucky,” he stated in January 2015 while sharing a photo with his future bride, who, by the way, happened to be wearing a beautiful diamond ring.
And prior to that, Novlan posted the cutest photo ever of a “morning message in the mirror” from his lady love.
I Do, With You
The couple had a short engagement and was married on September 12, 2015 at the Jonathan Club in Los Angeles. Following the ceremony, he posted a photo from their wedding and stated, “The start of something great. My wife, Kayla.”
Honeymoon Bliss
The El Secreto Hotel in Belize was the destination for their honeymoon, as Novlan announced, “We are here!”
Baby Makes Three
On July 16, 2019, their family expanded by one when their first child, a little girl named Poppy Marie, was born.

Another Arrival
And almost three years later on June 6, 2022, little Poppy became a big sister to brother Jones Douglas, when the couple’s son was born seven weeks early.
Acting, Parenting, They Do It All
In March of 2023, Novlan and Ewell took some time out to take their kids to Disneyland where there were “no meltdowns!”
Even though Ewell moved on from Bold & Beautiful, she had the chance to play opposite her husband in 2020 as a stand-in Steffy for Jacqueline MacInnes Wood for a love scene during the pandemic. But that’s not all… Novlan joined his wife’s series Roswell, New Mexico, for nine episodes in 2020 — and who knows, maybe we’ll get lucky and see them together onscreen again one day!
