Megan Thee Stallion Inks Distribution Deal With Warner Music Group

Megan Thee Stallion is entering a new era in her music career. The 28-year-old star has inked a distribution deal with Warner Music Group.

Billboard reported the deal on Tuesday (Dec. 12), specifying that it is not the typical record deal. Meg will retain her independent status but have the opportunity to benefit from WMG’s ecosystem. The “Cobra” rapper will also bring along some employees from 300 Entertainment to be part of her team, the same people she collaborated with as part of her previous deal.

This comes almost two months after the Grammy winner and 1501 Certified Entertainment finally ended their lengthy legal feud. The Houston Hottie had been vocal about being mistreated by her former label and was involved in a public back and forth with Carl Crawford, the CEO of 1501. After a “confidential settlement,” Meg was officially released from her deal. “Both Megan and 1501 are pleased to put this matter behind them and move forward with the next chapter of their respective businesses,” 1501 said in a statement.

Megan Thee Stallion made her grand return to the music scene back in September alongside Cardi B. The duo released “Bongos” and revived the sensual energy present in their 2020 hit “WAP.”

In October, she stepped into her movie soundtrack bag with “Out Alpha The Alpha,” one of the 25 records part of the D*cks: The Musical compilation.

Her first solo release since 2022’s Traumazine came in the November record “Cobra,” one of the most personal offerings of her career. “Breakin’ down and I had the whole world watchin’/ But the worst part is really who watched me/ Every night I cried, I almost died/ And nobody close tried to stop me/ Long as everybody gettin’ paid, right?/ Everything’ll be okay, right?/ I’m winnin,’ so nobody trippin’/ Bet if I ever fall off, everybody go missin’,” she rapped.
