Megan Thee Stallion and 1501 Certified Entertainment have ended their longstanding legal battle.

According to Billboard, the two parties have reached a settlement in the lawsuit the Houston rapper filed against her former record label. Announced on Thursday (Oct. 19), both sides have “mutually reached a confidential settlement to resolve their legal differences,” and will “amicably part ways.”

“Both Megan and 1501 are pleased to put this matter behind them and move forward with the next chapter of their respective businesses,” detailed a statement from 1501. Label CEO Carl Crawford claimed he and his company “wish Megan the very best in her life and career.”

The “Cocky AF” performer accused 1501 of signing her to an unfair deal in 2018, which she realized was below industry standards in 2019 after reviewing the terms with new lawyers. In 2020, Crawford accused Megan Thee Stallion of “acting like you don’t have to honor your contract no more” after she signed a management deal with Roc Nation.

Each side went back and forth, claiming the other party to be at fault in the contract dispute for the past three years, including issues with releasing music, fulfilling obligations, and being paid. In August 2022, the Grammy Award-winning musician filed an amended complaint requesting Traumazine and Something for Thee Hotties, count as studio albums, and requesting $1 million in damages from the label.

Megan Thee Stallion recently teased something new in a collection of cryptic posts to her Instagram spelling out “Act 1.” The chart-topper also revealed she is currently independent.

“Hotties! The real hotties, not the notties. Kinda them, too,” she detailed. “This part of my album is very much so funded by Megan Thee Stallion because we’re trying to get off… Y’all know what’s the tea. But I have no label right now. And we’re doing everything funded straight out of Megan Thee Stallion’s pockets. So, the budget is coming from me. Motherf**king Hot Girl Productions!”
