Meghan Markle Reworks Red Carolina Herrera Dress for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Gala 2024

Meghan Markle upcycled one of her Carolina Herrera gowns at the 2024 Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Gala on Saturday.

The Duchess of Sussex sported a red plunging halter neck dress featuring a slit skirt, a reworked version of the ballgown she wore at the Salute to Freedom Gala in 2021. Markle accessorized with matching Aquazzura sandals, her gold Cartier Love bangle and stacked diamond rings.

The American Riviera Orchard founder wore her dark tresses in waves, while her makeup consisted of rosy blush and a nude lip.

Several other stars, including Demi Lovato, Jamie Lee Curtis and Jimmy Kimmel were also in attendance at the CHLA Gala this year, with the latter serving as an honorary co-chair.

At the 2021 Salute to Freedom Gala, Markle notably accessorized with Princess Diana’s diamond tennis bracelet.

Markle has worn Diana’s tennis bracelet on several occasions since she reportedly received it as a gift from her husband, Prince Harry, 2018. It appeared on the Duchess’ wrist during her televised interview with Oprah in 2021. People reported that the couple decided together that Markle would wear the bracelet so that “Diana could be with them” at the taping.

According to CBS News, Prince Harry had two diamonds removed from the Cartier piece to create Markle’s engagement ring. The single-strand bracelet features approximately 20 carats of diamonds, with its value estimated at $150,000.

Diana was photographed wearing the bracelet at a preview of her 1997 Christie’s dress auction in London, as well as at a Red Cross gala earlier that year.
