Mel B claims she hooked up with fellow Spice Girl Geri Halliwell: 'She's going to kill me'

They once sang, “if you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends.” But according to Mel “Scary Spice” B, she and fellow Spice Girl Geri Halliwell were both real-life friends and lovers.

The British singer (real name: Melanie Brown) revealed her secret tryst with Ginger Spice during an interview with Piers Morgan for his upcoming Life Stories series, reports the Daily Mail. Morgan has also teased the “spicy” confession in a tweet.

Though Mel B has been open about having had relationships with women in the past, her latest interview marks the first time she’s publicly spoken about hooking up with a Spice Girl — though she claimed that they only slept together once.

“It just happens one time, you talk about it and it doesn’t really happen again,” she told Morgan.

She went on to joke that Halliwell, who is married to former race car driver Christian Horner, would be upset about the confession.

“Yeah and I’ve said it now,” she said. “All done. She’s going to kill me and so’s her husband … She’s going to hate me for this because she’s all posh in her country house and her husband. But it’s a fact. It just happened and we just giggled at it and that was it.”

When pressed by Morgan, the former America’s Got Talent host admitted that Halliwell, who now uses the name Geri Horner, had “great boobs.”

“We were best friends,” she added. “It just happened.”

She also explained why the one-night stand wasn’t included in her memoir, Brutally Honest.

“That wasn’t what my book was about,” she said. “It was brutally honest in a different way. And hopefully when Geri gets asked that, which hopefully she will after this, she won’t deny it. Because it was just a fun thing.”

While Halliwell — who is once again touring with the Spice Girls, minus Victoria “Posh” Beckham — hasn’t commented on the news, Mel C (a.k.a. Sporty Spice) was reportedly in Morgan’s audience.

“This is all news to me,” Mel C quipped in response to her bandmate’s confession.

Fans of the British girl group have a lot to say. Some are claiming that they knew about the hook-up all along, and many are slamming Mel B for being indiscrete.

“So sorry about classless Mel B Geri ,you deserve better than to be treated like that,” read one comment on Halliwell’s Instagram page.

“You could take Mel B to court for slander,” another commenter suggested. “What a lovely friend to have.”

“Hope you’re OK G,” a fan wrote. “We all us did cheeky things in our teen years. Stay proud, we all know about Mel B — classless.”

Others, meanwhile, are simply in shock.
