Melbourne’s Arabella and The Heist Unleash Fierce Femme-Punk Anthem, ‘Electric’
Naarm/Melbourne femme-punk rising stars Arabella and The Heist have just unleashed a new slice of attitude-infused grungy goodness dubbed ‘Electric’. The follow up to their previous single ‘1769’, ‘Electric’ is a raw and unapologetic anthem powered by overdriven guitars and bursting with old-school punk energy.
In a press statement, the band described their new single as “a celebration of energy”.
Arabella and The Heist – ‘Electric’
“We wanted to press on a record a feeling of alive-ness, the feeling we get when performing live,” they said. “There’s something so special about standing in a room with other humans, loving the same thing you do and to us, that’s electric.”
The single also comes packing an action-packed music video, using a bloody boxing match as a visual metaphor for the song’s central themes.
“The Electric music video encapsulates the feeling of release this track is inspired by,” the band continue. “Boxing gave us the medium to communicate this expression and through the lens of the sweaty gym, we aimed to create an atmosphere of electricity.”
You can take said music video for a spin above, or get your hands on the limited edition vinyl of ‘Electric’ and previous single ‘1979’ when it drops at the band’s official launch party at Melbourne’s Last Chance Rock N’ Roll Bar on Friday, 7th June.
