Melissa McCarthy gives little Michelle Obama fan her own first lady portrait
Parker Curry visited with Melissa McCarthy on Little Big Shots Sunday. Curry went viral two years ago when images of her staring at Michelle Obama’s portrait garnered national attention.
Since then, 4-year-old Curry has met with Obama on three separate occasions, and the former first lady even posted a video of them having a little dance party together. Curry also dressed up as Obama for Halloween, and recently published a book titled Parker Looks Up.
Parker, I'm so glad I had the chance to meet you today (and for the dance party)! Keep on dreaming big for yourself...and maybe one day I'll proudly look up at a portrait of you! pic.twitter.com/faUVTsYWun

Curry is such a big fan that McCarthy wanted to surprise her with something extra special. She commissioned Brittany Jackson, the book’s illustrator, to create a portrait of Curry in Obama’s dress.

Curry seemed to love the gift. When McCarthy asked her where she wanted to put it, she replied, “In the National Portrait Gallery.”
