Memphis rap mogul Yo Gotti studying business at UCLA | Reports
Memphis rapper Yo Gotti is going back to school.
The veteran hip-hop artist and Collective Music Group label impresario is apparently brushing up on his business knowledge at the University of California Los Angeles these days.
According to various media reports, Gotti is studying at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management and taking a weekly course in Corporate Valuation taught by Harvard- and UC Berkeley-educated professor Lori Santikian.
He shared photos of himself on the UCLA campus on social media Tuesday.
In recent years, Gotti has been shifting his focus from his own performing career to the growth of his CMG record label, which is distributed by Universal Music/Interscope.
Gotti launched CMG in 2012, and the label built its early success on Memphis and Mid-South acts. The label has enjoyed unprecedented success lately, with the rise of artists including Billboard chart-topping rapper Moneybagg Yo.

First signed to CMG in 2016, Moneybagg ascended to the ranks of rap superstardom five years later with the release of "A Gangsta's Pain," which topped the Billboard charts on two separate occasions and went on to become fourth highest-selling rap album of the year.
CMG also struck gold in 2022 signing female rapper GloRilla. One of Memphis music’s biggest success stories, the 24-year-old’s fast rise over the last 12 months has resulted in a Grammy nomination and a BET award win, as well as a top 10 pop hit and a couple gold singles.
Gotti’s various other business interests also include part ownership of Major League Soccer’s DC United club. Gotti also has a management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.
