Memphis rapper GloRilla meets President Biden during visit to White House: 'Yeah, Joe!'
Memphis rapper GloRilla and President Joe Biden had a moment on Monday.
The 24-year-old Grammy-nominated GloRilla — real name Gloria Woods — was at the White House to attend a reception celebrating Women’s History Month.
On her Instagram page, GloRilla posted several videos and photos of her visit, with the caption, “Yeah Joe 2024usususus.”
One of the clips included President Biden, who seemed to display a familiarity with GloRilla’s music.
In the video, GloRilla poses with Biden declaring, “Yeah, Joe!” The president replies, “Well, not ‘Joe.’ Yeah you!” — apparently a knowing reference to GloRilla’s latest hit single “Yeah Glo!”
A smiling and seemingly surprised GloRilla laughed in response, adding her own, “Yeah Glo!”

The song, “Yeah Glo,” has been moving up the Billboard Hot 100 charts. After four weeks, the latest tally — for the week of March 16 — found the song making the leap from No. 84 to No. 49, and the track looks like it will be rising further still. GloRilla first hit the pop charts with her 2022 breakout with producer Hitkidd, “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” which peaked at No. 42 and netted her a Grammy nomination last year. Her biggest success, a duet with Cardi B on “Tomorrow 2,” followed in the fall of 2022.

In her social media posting on Monday, GloRilla also included photos of herself with Vice President Kamala Harris, as well as other footage of her attending the function in the Oval Office.
GloRilla is not the only rapper to be welcomed into the corridors of power in Washington, D.C. In December, Glorilla’s CMG label head, Memphis rap legend Yo Gotti, also attended a White House Christmas party, thrown by President Biden’s wife, first lady Jill Biden.
Gotti, the rapper turned label mogul has his own D.C. ties. He is part owner, since 2021, of the Major League Soccer franchise D.C. United. Gotti had previously visited the White House in July 2023, where he was photographed with the first lady during a youth event on the South Lawn promoting MLS All Star Week.
