Metallica announces pair of Bay Area shows
SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Welcome home: Legendary rockers and San Francisco’s own Metallica will be returning to the Bay Area in 2025 to play two stadium shows, the band announced Thursday.
The band fueling some of the most iconic tracks in rock music has been on its “M72 No Repeat Weekend” tour for two years in support of Metallica’s latest album, “72 Seasons,” released in 2023. On Thursday, Metallica announced it would extend the M72 tour into 2025 and announced 21 new shows across 14 cities.
On June 20 and 22, nothing else matters, as the band returns home to the Bay Area to play hotly anticipated shows at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. “We’ve added some cities to the weekend adventures that we haven’t visited in quite some time, including Tampa (over 15 years!), Denver, Nashville, and a location that’s been on our wish list for far too long, as we’ll finally be hitting our Bay Area home field of Levi’s Stadium for the first time,” Metallica’s announcement said.

Limp Bizkit and Ice Nine Kills are set to ride the lightning and open for Metallica at Levi’s Stadium on June 20. On June 22, Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies will turn the page to get the show started.
Before Levi’s Stadium’s lights fade to black, fans will be able to experience two unique nights spanning 40-plus years of rock history. As part of Metallica’s “No Repeat Weekend” experience, no two shows in a city will share a set list, the band said, offering fans a completely original concert for each night.
Two-day tickets go on sale to the general public on Sept. 27. Single-day tickets become available on Jan. 17, 2025.
Further details on other tour stops, tickets and presale offers can be found on the Metallica website.
