Mia Thornton Addresses Speculation That Her Health Issues Were Caused by Plastic Surgery
On Part 1 of The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 7 reunion, Mia Thornton shared an update on the most recent development regarding her health.
“There’s several different things going on,” she explained. “I have a large lymph node, and then I had a raised lump on my rear that we did biopsy… That’s what we thought was sarcoidosis, but then I had to go and get chest x-rays to make sure it didn’t spread to my chest.”
“So that last appointment that you had, that was on the show, that you went to the doctor and they said you were cleared of, that was the sarcoidosis? So you don’t—?” Candiace Dillard Bassett asked before Mia answered, “I don’t have that, no.”
“So here’s the thing," Mia continued when asked by Robyn Dixon for clarification on her diagnosis. “I actually am still under care, and I actually am on medication. We did find out that I do have tissue growing in my reproductive organs, so I am on medication for it to help diminish it so I don’t have to get it surgically removed. It would be like a full-on hysterectomy.”

Referencing Gizelle Bryant finding out she had to have a hysterectomy, Mia explained, “When I saw you were going through that, I haven’t even been able to reach out to Gizelle because I understand the pain of not even wanting to talk about it anymore because I don’t want anybody to take my female organs.”
Because Mia’s health has been an ongoing conversation on the show and on social media, host Andy Cohen wanted to address one question in particular. “There’s been a lot of speculation online that maybe it was your body rejecting fillers or implants or augmentation that you’ve done,” he said. “Did that come up?”
“Breast implant illness, it’s like the number one thing that I hear,” Mia responded, before Andy shared, “I remember Yolanda [Hadid] got rid of her implants. She felt like her body was rejecting it. Was that a conversation?”
“It was a conversation,” Mia said. “Because, actually, sarcoidosis is caused by that. So if I had actually been diagnosed with sarcoidosis, it probably would have resulted as a foreign object [entered] my body at some point that my body is trying to reject.”
