A 12-year wait for a Bugs Bunny-affiliated Air Jordan sneaker is finally set to come to an end in 2025.

The Air Jordan 8 “Bugs Bunny” will release late next year, according to the reputed sneaker leaker known as @zSneakerHeadz, ushering in the return of one of the model’s original colorways. As the second Air Jordan tied to the “Looney Tunes” headliner, the multicolor shoe originally released in 1993 and last hit stores for its 20th anniversary in 2013. The Air Jordan 8 colorway isn’t a proper collaboration, as those weren’t even a thing in the early ’90s, but Bugs Bunny and Marvin the Martian both wore the sneaker in promotional materials.

The Air Jordan 8 “Bugs Bunny” is dressed predominantly in white leather, with grey suede paneling appearing around the collar and heel. Hits of red, grey and black then appear throughout, including on the brush-stroke patterned heel stabilizer and three-way split chenille tongue patch with a blue Jumpman at the center.

Michael Jordan wore the shoe on-court in the later part of the ’92-’93 season before switching to the black and red Air Jordan 8 variant referred to as “Playoffs” for the postseason, which concluded with his third consecutive NBA title in the Chicago Bulls’ first three-peat.

The Air Jordan 8, designed by Tinker Hatfield, debuted in the “Aqua” colorway worn by Jordan for the 1993 All-Star Game. Just two other colorways featured in the shoe’s original run, and while its appearance is appreciated, the model is known for lacking in comfort (even by standards back then) and being prone to overheating. Its thin straps are sometimes called “bunny ears,” and its inner sleeve is borrowed from the Air Huarache.

Bugs Bunny’s relationship with Jordan Brand began with the marketing of the Air Jordan 7, leading to one colorway being nicknamed “Hare” or “Hare Jordan.” His Airness would, of course, eventually go on to star with Bugs Bunny and co. in 1996’s “Space Jam.”

The Air Jordan 8 “Bugs Bunny” is expected to release in fall or winter 2025. Pricing is set at $210.
