Michael Strahan Declares Daughter Isabella a 'Superwoman' After Major Cancer Milestone
Michael Strahan has a special reason to celebrate this Father’s Day.
The father of four shared a major moment from his daughter Isabella’s battle with cancer in an emotional Instagram video on Sunday, June 16. The 19-year-old has undergone treatment since she was diagnosed with a brain tumor last fall. But recently, she reached a monumental milestone in her journey, and her father was by her side to document it.
In the Good Morning America co-host’s video, Isabella walked inside a hospital while wearing a crown on her head and a big smile on her face. She approached a bell that was hung on one of the hospital’s walls and rang it—officially declaring the end of her chemotherapy treatment.
Isabella is “a SUPERWOMAN!” the proud dad wrote in his Instagram caption. “Ringing that bell finishing chemo and on your way! ???????????? You continue to fight with a smile on your face, strength, and determination. I am one proud Dad! Love you, Bella ????.”
The comment section of the television personality’s post was flooded with words of excitement for Isabella and nods to the holiday.
“She is indeed! Congrats! What a Father’s Day celebration!” wrote ABC News journalist Deborah Roberts.
“What a huge inspiration! You go girl!!” one of Michael’s Instagram followers wrote.
“I am so happy for you all! Isabella, you are inspiring !!!??,” one fan said as another agreed it was the “Best news of the year!”
“What a great Father’s Day present ??????,” one person commented.
Isabella initially shared photos announcing the end of her treatment on Instagram last week. “After the wildest 8 months, I finally got to ring the bell,” the teen wrote, adding that she was "Grateful for my journey ??.”
Michael, 52, commented on his daughter’s post at the time, writing, “So proud of you and love you baby girl????.”
The former NFL player and his daughter first opened up about her battle with brain cancer earlier this year as they began publicly documenting her health journey. Isabella first received her diagnosis of medulloblastoma last October and, after undergoing emergency surgery to remove the tumor, started her chemotherapy treatment in February.
