Michael Strahan's Daughter Isabella Shares Major Personal News Amid Cancer Battle: 'Goodbye Hospital'
After a long and intense battle against cancer, 19-year-old Isabella Strahan, the daughter of Michael Strahan, shared the highly anticipated news that she is officially in remission, meaning no cancer is detected in her body.
Only a day after her last update on YouTube, where she has vlogged her journey from the beginning, Isabella shared a new video called, "Vlog 27: Goodbye Hospital."
The short video followed Isabella as she left the hospital, returning for a final MRI that revealed that doctors didn't detect any cancer. In the car, she narrated to fans how her "last appointment" went, saying, "It was a great, great scan. Everything was clear, cancer-free, and everything is great."
She also shared that she doesn't "have another doctor's appointment until October," when it will be a year since she was diagnosed. "I miss my doctors already, and everyone who's helped me, because they're all so nice... I love them so much."
In response to the great news, fans flooded the comments with congratulations and kind words, such as one who wrote, "You DID IT. CANCER-FREE. Happiest day ever. Happy tears. Blessings always."
Isabella was first diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in late October 2023, which led to multiple brain surgeries, including an emergency procedure on her birthday, and multiple rounds of chemo.
Throughout the process, she was very open about her struggles, sharing the side effects of a medicine she was taking in one vlog that led to some memory loss: "I'm given this drug to protect my hearing and just because I have a reaction to it they give me Ativan and for some reason—this happened last time, too—I can't remember a single thing about that day."
Most recently, she brought fans along as she got her chemotherapy port removed, sharing that she was "very sore" after the procedure but was happy that it was gone.
As for what's next, Isabella commented on moving back into college at the University of Southern California and hinted at continuing to vlog as she transitions into college life.
