Micheaux Film Fest Sets Partners; Tilda Swinton To Narrate Venice Title; Odeon Has Record Box Office Weekend — Global Briefs

Braham Entertainment Sets Community Partnerships Ahead Of 2024 Micheaux Film Festival 2024

Braham Entertainment, the company behind LA’s Micheaux Film Festival, has set its community partnerships ahead of the 6th annual edition, taking place October 21st – 27th at Culver Theater and sponsored by Roku. The partnerships are with St Vincent De Paul Society USA, the Peggy Beatrice Foundation, and Wounded Warrior Homes, organizations that battle homelessness in the United States. “A recent Supreme Court ruling has upheld the right of cities to enforce bans on public camping, significantly impacting the unhoused community by potentially increasing the criminalization of homelessness,” said Braham and Branch. “Our partnership underscores the importance of community support and intervention to provide viable alternatives and support structures for those affected. This is why highlighting our partners and extending as much assistance as possible are paramount. Our goal is to deepen understanding of the root causes of homelessness and collaborate to support the most impacted members of our community.”
