This is the second time in the last week Obama favored a look from the Italian luxury fashion house. On Sept. 26, the former first lady attended the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s Albie Awards and wore another suited look by Versace, which featured a unique embellishment.

Obama wore a coordinated black suit set, which featured a double-breasted blazer with sharp, silk lapels and soft shoulders. The blazer coordinated with the “Becoming” author’s wide-leg black trousers. Along one lapel of Obama’s blazer were intertwined safety pins, with a series of four running down the lapel in smaller sizes.

Obama’s major power suit moments follow a trend of prominent women styling the trend for themselves. The former first lady has made plenty of fashion statements as of late, including her crisscross Monse look she wore to the Democratic National Convention last August.

Her recent style era features a string of elegant looks with a contemporary edge. Obama’s approach to style consistently demonstrates versatility, while remaining on trend.
