The first title in a revamped DC slate overseen by studio bosses Gunn and Peter Safran, Superman will follow the superhero of the same name as he looks to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.
Gunn is directing from his own script, which draws on characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Safran produces the pic, currently in production in Atlanta, which is slated for release on July 11, 2025.
Previously, Hoover has been seen in multiple Guardians of the Galaxy films, as well as such titles as The Suicide Squad, Holidate, and The Belko Experiment. Up next, she’ll be seen on the Max series Duster from J.J. Abrams and LaToya Morgan.
