Miranda Lambert Provides Rare Insight on 'Old School' Relationship With Husband Brendan McLoughlin
Miranda Lambert is looking back on her love story with husband Brendan McLoughlin.
While making an appearance on Bunnie XO's newest Dumb Blonde podcast episode this week, Lambert offered fans a rare glimpse inside her relationship with McLoughlin, whom she married in early 2019.
The country superstar first met McLoughlin, a former NYPD officer, while performing on Good Morning America with her band, the Pistol Annies in November 2018. McLoughlin worked security for the show and was later given a ticket to Lambert's concert that night.
“My security invited him, they kind of knew some of the same people, so my security team invited him to the show," Lambert recalled in a clip from the podcast episode shared to TikTok. "We gave him one ticket, no +1, he came by himself, and we met up after the show."

"I didn’t even see him before the show, we met up after and hung out and talked," she explained. "I didn’t really know, there wasn’t an agenda rally it was just like, ‘Hey, nice to meet you.’ He was super cool, we talked and just kept in touch."
That's when she revealed the "old school" way she kept in touch with McLoughlin, by writing "literal letters" to one another.
Bunnie, who is married to country star Jelly Roll, couldn't help but gush over Lambert's admission, calling it "romantic" how the couple first connected.

"I was like, ‘Do you wanna be pen pals?’ He was like, ‘Write letters with pens?’ I was like, ‘Yeah,'" Lambert, 40, further recalled. "He’s eight years younger, so that was really mind blowing to him."
Going on to talk more about their dynamic, the "Wranglers" singer said, "We just hit it off, we’re very different, but we come from the same background. He’s from a law enforcement and first responder family, our attitudes aligned."
"And he’s someone in my life that is not a 'yes' person. I don’t believe in surrounding yourself with 'yes' people at all, and I don’t do that. I don’ think it’s healthy mentally," she said before calling her husband "very honest."
"He’s a harsh New Yorker, and I like that because he just tells it like it is, he doesn’t sugar coat. He calls me on my sh-t," she added.
"love this story ??," one fan wrote in the comments after seeing Bunnie's TikTok clip.
"I'm glad she found her person," added another.
