Missing Fox exec found dead in desert
According to the Associated Press, the remains of Gavin Smith, a Fox executive who went missing more than two years ago, have been found in a desert in Southern California. Hikers reportedly discovered his remains in the Antelope Valley on Oct. 26.
Smith was last seen on May 1, 2012, leaving a friend’s house, after which his disappearance was investigated as a murder. Smith’s Mercedes-Benz had previously been found at a Simi Valley storage facility, and its condition had led the police to believe that he’d been killed. Earlier this year, he was officially declared dead.
The storage facility had been linked to John Creech, who is currently serving an eight-year prison sentence for drug-related charges. He was named a person of interest in Smith’s case but never charged with the murder.
The results of Smith’s autopsy have not been finalized.
