Missing 'House of the Dragon'? Get ready for HBO's next series coming out of Westeros
The final dragon has landed in season 2 of HBO's "House of the Dragon." But you can return to Westeros in a new series next year — albeit with fewer dragons, after the recently televised war.
HBO began production on "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" earlier this summer. Here's a look at what's coming.
What books are the new 'Game of Thrones' spinoff based on?
George R.R. Martin's novella series "The Tales of Dunk and Egg" provide the basis for the new show. The books in the series, a prequel to Martin's "Song of Ice and Fire" series, are as follows:
"The Hedge Knight" (1998)
"The Sworn Sword" (2003)
"The Mystery Knight" (2010)
A new publication that includes all three novellas was published in 2015 and is titled "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms."
The stories also have been adapted into graphic novels. They are:

Maegor I (the Cruel)
Jahaerys I (the Conciliator)
The line of succession from the start of "House of the Dragon" to the start of "Game of Thrones" is as follows:
