Mitzi Gaynor is offering a delightful Oscar flashback on Instagram
It’s never out with the old, in with the new when it comes to the Academy Awards.
To wit: Hollywood icon Mitzi Gaynor — who, in her ’80s, may be retired from film — wants to help celebrate Tinseltown’s most important night. In the below clip, the singer-dancer best known for her role as Nellie Forbush on South Pacific in 1958, posted a sentimental flashback of her big night on the Oscar stage 65 years ago.
“My first time performing on the #Oscars, singing and dancing 1954’s Best Song nominee ‘The Moon is Blue’ with my darling Donald O’Connor,” Gaynor writes. “All live, and pure heaven for me. I wish we were doing it now.”
