‘Modern Family’ cast reunites for new ad — see which of your favorites returned
The Dunphys are back!
It may not be a full-fledged “Modern Family” reunion, but four stars of the hit ABC sitcom reunited briefly for a fun commercial for the WhatsApp messaging platform.

The 30-second ad begins with Phil (Ty Burrell), Claire (Julie Bowen) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) sitting on the Dunphys’ iconic sofa.
They are cooing over new photos that Haley, Phil and Claire’s eldest daughter, shared of her twins in the family group chat.
Then Cam’s husband, Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) walks in and discovers the photos weren’t shared with him — because he hadn’t been invited to this particular text conversation.
“You started a family chat without me?” he says, then utters one of his classic lines from the show: “Shaaame!”
But there’s no shade intended here, everyone assures him; it’s just because his new phone isn’t compatible with the rest of the family’s.
“Blurry photos, weird likes,” Claire says.
Then the scene cuts to a man who just happens to be painting outside their living room window. He comes to the rescue by suggesting they all switch to WhatsApp.
The ad finishes with Cam and Mitch scrolling their phones side by side in bed.
“I still can’t believe you cut me out,” Mitch says.
“We may have cut you from here,” Cam says, gesturing to his phone, then puts his hand on his heart. “Never from here.”
Stonestreet shared a behind-the-scenes Instagram photo from the filming of the commercial, smiling for the camera with his fellow cast members. He appears to have pranked his on-screen husband by using a face-aging filter.
“It was fun getting some of the band back together,” he wrote in the caption.
“Modern Family” may have ended in 2020, but the show’s stars are still hanging out and cheering each other on.
In November, Sofia Vergara, who played Gloria Pritchett on the show, shared photos of a “Modern Family” reunion she hosted at her home.
Nearly every cast member attended except Burrell, who couldn’t make it — but his co-stars held up a framed photo of him to include him in spirit.
Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, who played Lily Tucker-Pritchett on the show, also recently shared a sweet photo of Ferguson, who played her on-screen dad, and Bowen, who played her aunt on the show, supporting her acting endeavors.
“Faves came to watch my school play<33,” the 17-year-old wrote in the caption.
