'Mommy's doing a TV show!' Giuliana Rancic's 6-year-old son crashes her 'E! News' broadcast — and starts to dance
Giuliana Rancic‘s son, Duke, sure knows how to steal the show.
After making her return as an E! News co-host earlier this month, on Thursday Rancic brought her 6-year-old along to the set for some fun. And he had loads of it: He operated a camera, wore a crazy hat, and ran around backstage and on the set. But when it was time for mama to hunker down and work, Duke was way too excited — and crashed the show.

Rancic’s co-host, Jason Kennedy, was the first to realize that Duke had sneaked up behind them and started dancing in front of the screen, which was projecting images of the celebrities they were talking about. Kennedy just started cracking up, laughing so hard he practically collapsed on the news desk. Rancic was pretty hilarious trying to persuade Duke to leave the stage — and even tried a bribe.
“Oh, my God — Duke!” she said with a laugh. “I did not know Duke was right [there]. Hi, honey — mommy’s working. Mommy’s working.”
Duke didn’t stop dancing, leading Rancic to say, “Literally, this was not planned. Hi, honey, you’re supposed to go over there. I got you a chocolate.”
Kennedy added with a laugh, “Mommy’s doing a TV show.” But that didn’t even help. Duke kept dancing — and Rancic did an adorably terrible job of wrangling him. Finally, Rancic and Duke disappeared, with Kennedy following, saying, “Let me help! Here’s your babysitter!”
Rancic later posted a video of the hilarity on Instagram with the hashtag “#momlife,” as well as several others that showed Duke having the time of his life with his mama at work.
Duke isn’t unfamiliar with the spotlight, having appeared with his parents — his dad is Bill Rancic — on their reality show, Giuliana and Bill, for a few years. But they went on hiatus in 2014 when he started school. She told HuffPost in 2016 the show was a “very rewarding experience,” but they “needed to pull back.” She explained, “I don’t know if I would have wanted to show cameras at his preschool or him going through certain milestones. Some things have to be private. And Bill and I are very open. We share a lot, but it’s our son. And so, until he has a say, we want to just protect him.”

In addition to being a great dancer — clearly — Duke is trilingual, speaking Italian, Spanish, and English. He’s so well-traveled that for his 5th birthday party, the cake he requested was one designed like an Emirates airplane. And he likes visiting his mom at work — though he’s not 100 percent sure what she does. “Someone asked him, ‘What does your mom do?'” she said recently. “He said, ‘Mommy is a singer!’ He knows I do something on TV. He’s not quite sure what!”
He may not know what she does at work, but you can bet he can’t wait to go back. Looks like he had the time of his life.
