Monica Garcia came in hot on Season 4 of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. The 40-year-old wasted no time with pleasantries. Instead, she began her RHOSLC journey by suggesting she knew “dark secrets” about her cast mates and revealed her divorce stemmed from a months-long affair with her brother-in-law. Woah.

Monica’s sense of humor and brutal honesty made her a fan favorite, but fans’ support for the newcomer started to wane as the season progressed. Maybe there were one too many blowups.

As Monica’s first season comes to a close, let’s look back at some of her highs and lows from Season 4 of RHOSLC.

When She Opened Up About Her Insecurities (High)

Fans resonated with Monica because she was more relatable than the other women. She didn’t boast about her expensive jewelry collection or her various homes. Instead, she talked openly about the difficulties of being a single mom and the pressure to keep up with the other women financially.

In an emotional scene with her mom Linda, Monica shared she had splurged on a Louis Vuitton bag because she wanted to have something nice around the women. Monica’s openness about wanting to fit in touched the hearts of fans.

Greek Easter (Low)

Monica’s behavior at Angie Katsanevas’ Greek Easter celebration was not her best moment. She fought with the host (Angie), Lisa Barlow, and her mom, so overall, it was pretty messy. Monica caught a lot of heat from her co-stars and fans on social media for her actions at the event. Most of the backlash arose because of a comment Monica’s mother made. She suggested that Monica’s children could overhear her fight with Angie. However, Monica dispelled that claim in an explosive tweet.

“Say what you want about me. Whore, rat, disrespectful, home wrecker, spoiled, broke, an assistant, whatever you want to say,” she wrote. “I let everybody run with it, but I MADE SURE my girls were not there for that situation. That did not happen in front of my kids. Go through the stills.”

When She Was the Voice of Reason in Palm Springs (High)

The trip to Palm Springs this season was like watching a car crash. It was an absolute mess, but we couldn’t look away. While most of the women were losing their cool, Monica remained the calmest in the group and served as the voice of reason. She sided with Meredith Marks when Angie showed up uninvited, even though she was closer to Angie.

While some fans saw this as Monica cozying up to an OG, we think she genuinely agreed that showing up unannounced was rude. Even when she was involved in conflict, she handled it well. She calmly explained her point of view and came out looking like the most reasonable one in the bunch.

Heather’s Book Brunch (Low)

Heather Gay threw a pioneer-themed book brunch to celebrate her first book, “Bad Mormon,” and let’s just say it didn’t end well. The drama began after Lisa Barlow said Monica was nasty to women. Monica, of course, responded, and it wasn’t pretty.

While Lisa did throw the first stone, Monica’s reaction was over-the-top, and she came out looking like the bad guy. She made fun of Lisa’s voice, called her a nasty bitch, and said she was ugly on the inside. Yeah, it wasn’t great.

When She Went All Out for the Drag Competition (High)

In Palm Springs, Drag superstar Trixie Mattel hosted a drag competition for the RHOSLC crew. Trixie instructed the women to transform into their best drag looks, and she would crown one of them as the winner.

While some of the women appeared not to take the competition too seriously (yes, we’re looking at you, Lisa), Monica went all out. She looked like the prom queen from hell, and we were so here for it. The drag makeover showed Monica’s fun side and earned her brownie points with fans.

When She Asked About Heather’s Daughter’s Sex Life (Low)

During a trip to Bermuda, Monica asked if Heather’s eldest daughter was sexually active. Heather admitted she was uncomfortable with the question and changed the subject. Instead of apologizing, Monica dug her heels in and suggested Heather was uncomfortable talking about sex because of her upbringing. The whole thing was so awkward and not a great moment for Monica.
