More acts added to Jimmy Carter's 100th birthday bash at Atlanta's Fox Theatre

Jimmy Carter's 100th birthday bash at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta is just over a week away, and with additional artists added last week it's shaping up to be quite the celebration.

Seven additional acts, including Athens-based B-52s, were added to a list that already featured Drive-By Truckers, Eric Church, GROUPLOVE, Chuck Leavell, D-Nice, Maren Morris, The War & Treaty and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chamber Chorus.

Guitarist Duane Betts, Angélique Kidjo, BeBe Winans, Carlene Carter—daughter of June Carter and Johnny Cash—Lalah Hathaway and India Arie were added last week. Actress Renee Zellweger was added to a list of guest featuring actor Sean Penn, Atlanta rapper Killer Mike and former Atlanta Brave Dale Murphy.

The 'Jimmy Carter 100: A celebration in song' is Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $113.50 and the concert benefits The Carter Center.

Carter was known for his love of music.

"Music is the best proof that people have one thing in common no matter where they live, no matter what language they speak," Carter said, according to the Fox Theatre website.
