New York Fashion Week had plenty of memorable moments. From new shoe collaborations making their debut on the runways to celebrity sightings galore. But there were also some awkward moments this season that had people talking on and off social media.
Here, the most eyebrow-raising moments from NYFW spring ’25.
Jojo Siwa’s Fur Ball & Monster Boots Look
The often controversial Jojo Siwa turned heads when she strolled in to Christian Cowan’s NYFW show on Sept. 8. While she was one of the last to arrive, it looked as if she could have been a model on the runway, wearing the designer’s giant black fur ball look paired with furry green Monster boots. “This is not the fashion show,” she said on her way to her seat. Her look, however, prevented the singer from actually sitting down.

Anna Wintour Calls Out Naomi Campbell
Naomi Campbell accepted the Fashion Icon Award at Harlem’s Fashion Row Fashion Show & Style Awards on Sept. 3 from Anna Wintour who was there to present her with the honor. Onstage, Wintour called out the model for being late. “I am a very punctual person, and I have the honor of presenting tonight to someone who is often late,” she said. Campbell, meanwhile, had her own rebuttal.
“Yes, Naomi is always late,” she said, before adding, “It’s so important that I’m here today, and I’m honored to be here in Harlem… Everything’s going to work out the way it’s going to work out. It wasn’t my choice to have the other woman,” she said, referring to Wintour. “I’d much rather have this,” Campbell then pointed to Harper’s Bazaar editor-in-chief, Samira Nasr, who also gave Campbell an introduction.
Lil’ Kim Arrives Late to Christian Siriano
Rapper Lil’ Kim arrived late to Christian Siriano’s show on Sept. 6. So late, in fact, models were already walking the runway. Social media erupted with comments after the moment, with users debating over decorum and Lil’ Kim’s status. “I don’t condone lateness, but this woman is an icon and they obviously didn’t have a problem with it so maybe you all should chill,” one user wrote. “Arriving late to a show is unprofessional and disrespectful to the models no matter who you are,” another commented.

Kathy Hilton Dares Tiffany Haddish to Walk the Runway
At Monse’s spring ’25 show last week, Kathy Hilton and her daughters, Paris and Nicky Hilton, sat on the front row next to actress Tiffany Haddish. While guests waited for the show to begin, Kathy dared Haddish to walk the catwalk to provide some entertainment in the interim. “Right now, do it, and wave,” said Kathy.
