How to Watch 2024 MTV VMAs Online for Free
The only way to watch the 2024 MTV VMAs without cable for free is by signing up for a live-TV streaming service that includes MTV and offers a free trial period. Below, we’ve included streaming platforms that offer free trials so you can sign up to watch the VMAs online free.
How to Watch 2024 MTV VMAs Online: Sling TV
Sling Orange + Entertainment Extra
On Sale 43% off
Sling TV is one of the most affordable cord-cutting options for accessing MTV. The service offers three subscriptions with different channel lineups — though none of the base plans include MTV. You can, however, sign up for a base plan and add the Entertainment Extra for an additional $6/month to watch MTV. We recommend choosing the Sling Orange plan since it’s currently half off and only costs $20/month. In total, you’ll spend $26 to watch the 2024 MTV VMAs online.
How to Watch 2024 MTV VMAs Online: Fubo TV
Fubo Pro Plan
Looking for how to watch the MTV VMAs online for free? Fubo has you covered. The live-TV streaming service offers new users a seven-day free trial and its Pro plan grants subscribers access to MTV. Plus, you get access to over 175 other channels, and the plan costs $79.99/month. More good news? You can cancel and change your plan at any time, making Fubo an easy and low-commitment way for watching the MTV VMAs without cable.
How to Watch 2024 MTV VMAs Online: DirecTV Stream
DirecTV Stream Choice Package
On Sale 18% off
DirecTV Stream offers a five-day free trial and a few different subscription options for a variety of prices so you can choose whichever fits your budget. The Choice package is the most popular and offers MTV in addition to over 100 other channels. The package typically goes for $108.99/month, but right now DirecTV Stream is offering $20 off each month for your first three months. That means you’ll only have to pay $88.99/month for three months of this live-TV streaming service. With no annual contract what’s not to love about watching the MTV VMAs with DirecTV Stream?
How to Watch 2024 MTV VMAs Online: Hulu + Live TV
Hulu + Live TV
The Hulu + Live TV subscription is another way to watch the MTV VMAs without cable, ringing in at $76.99/month. You get a lot of content with this bundle subscription — including access to the Hulu streaming library, ESPN+ and Disney+, in addition to MTV. This is a comprehensive packing for addressing all you cord-cutter needs.
Who’s Performing at the 2024 MTV VMAs?
The performances are half the fun of the ceremony. Last year, Olivia Rodrigo delivered a memorable performance featuring an explosive fake-out, Nicki Minaj previewed Pink Friday 2 in a bonus performance and Shakira accepted the Video Vanguard award with a medley of her biggest hits. So if 2023 told us anything, it’s that artists show up and show out for the VMAs.
In 2024, the following artists have been announced to perform: Anitta, Benson Boone, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Halsey, KAROL G, Lenny Kravitz, LISA, LL COOL J, Rauw Alejandro, Sabrina Carpenter, Shawn Mendes and host Megan Thee Stallion.
Additionally, five-time VMA winner (and this year’s Video Vanguard Award recipient) Katy Perry will perform a career-spanning medley of her biggest hits.
Who’s Nominated at the 2024 MTV VMAs?
Taylor Swift once again leads the nominations pack with nods in 10 categories — including Video of the Year. If she wins the coveted award, Swift will shatter her own record-breaking streak, becoming the only artist to ever three-peat (following wins in 2022 and 2023) and win five times.
Swift isn’t the only multi-nominated artist competing at this year’s VMAs: “Fortnight” collaborator Post Malone is close behind with nine nods, followed by Ariana Grande, Eminem and Sabrina Carpenter with six nods each.
