The show, which is produced by Westside for ARD Degeto/BR, stars Nina Gummich (“Alice,” “Charité”) and Thomas Prenn (“Die Mittagsfrau,” “Deutsches Haus”). It is available as four 45 minute episodes or two 90 minute episodes.
Also new for Mipcom is Season 2 of period anthology drama “The Palace,” produced by Moovie, Constantin Film and ZDF. Once again set at the legendary Palace theater in Berlin, the new season takes us to 1990, the year after the fall of the Berlin Wall. At an unprecedented time of crisis and transformation, ballet director Regina Feldmann and a trio of up-and-coming young dancers face personal and professional turmoil as they navigate love, fears and ambitions in a battle to save their theater.
Following the international success of the first season, Global Screen will launch a second season of “Recipes for Love and Murder,” composed of eight 50-minute episodes. The crime drama stars Maria Doyle Kennedy (“Outlander”) and Tony Kgoroge (“Invictus”).
Filmed in South Africa and Scotland, “Recipes for Love and Murder” is a quirky murder mystery series based on the novel by South African author Sally Andrew, “Recipes for Love and Murder: A Tannie Maria Mystery.”
In Season 2, a massive fire engulfs the town of Eden, triggering a tragic chain of events, and Tannie Maria, Jessie and chief detective Khaya Meyer get dragged into a multiple murder investigation that unearths the town’s darkest secrets.
The show is produced by Both Worlds Pictures in co-production with Acorn and M-Net, and in association with Paradoxal.
Ulrike Schr?der, co-head of international sales and acquisitions at Global Screen, commented, “Viewers are always seeking out strong production values and great storylines and we are sure that these three series full of glossy drama and popular varieties of crime narratives will have particular appeal to our clients around the world right now.”
Earlier this year, Global Screen’s parent company Telepool was acquired by pan-European distribution and production studio Vuelta, whose other companies include France’s Pan and Playtime, Germany’s SquareOne, Scandinanvia’s Scanbox, Benelux’s WWE and Italy’s Indiana Productions.
