This Music Festival Has ‘An Energy That You Can Only Get In The Caribbean,’ Says Ne-Yo

For the second time ever, The Out Of This World Music Festival rose to fruition with the electricity, good vibes and a verve that one can only truly find in the Caribbean.

Taking place in Camana Bay, Cayman Islands, the Department of Tourism-sponored event, which was produced by produced by John Watler (aka DJ Renegade).

As a glaring testament to the diversity of the island, the star-studded line-up included a hybrid crossover of some of the best and brightest in Caribbean and American music: Baby Cham, Machel Montano, Fat Joe and Ne-Yo.

“There’s an energy that you can only get in the Caribbean,” Ne-Yo told Blavity. “It’s not an energy that can be duplicated anywhere else. Don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love my American fans but there’s just an energy and electricity that happens here, that only happens here. I can’t even explain it to someone who hasn’t been here. You’ve gotta come here and just feel it.”

In conjunction with the night’s main attraction, there was a litany of smaller artists who were granted exposure and the opportunity to endorse their music. Some of those artists included DJ Diesel, Joshie Vybz,  Rico Rolando and Vassco.

Kicking things off on a high note as the first act of the night, Jamaican Dancehall artist Baby Cham came with the energy singing some of his biggest hits “Vitamin S” and “Ghetto Story.”

In addition to his hits, Cham paid grand homage to Bob Marley and his son and legend in his own right Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, as he sang some of their most famous songs.

Following Cham’s high-energy takeover, Fat Joe came through with his vintage New York swag. Some of the songs on his setlist included “Lean Back”, “Make It Rain” and “We Takin Over.”

Adding to the fuel, Joe gave a personal testimony to the crowd about how he overcame some major financial struggles after dropping his hit single,  “All The Way Up” back in 2017. It was spirited, insightful and designed for inspiration.

After Fat Joe concluded his performance, Soca legend Machel Montano came on stage with his signature dose of high energy vibes to propel the night into its ultimate fever pitch. Montano performed some of his most notable hits to date like “Like A Boss,” “Famalay” and “Soca Kingdom.”

He brought the ultimate carnival vibes to the Camana Bay Green.

To finalize the evening, Ne-Yo took center stage with a euphoric blend of deep cuts and noteworthy hits for almost an entire hour.

With an entire squad of fierce, scantily clad women dancers, Ne-Yo serenaded the audience with his expert level of showmanship and gentlemen’s prowess. Some of the tracks he performed included “So Sick,” “Take A Bow,” “Nobody” and “Mad.”

In addition to executing his hits, he invited three women on stage to show off their dance moves, which proved to be a major hit with the crowd to cap off his stellar performance.
